Hello,

I tried Video Enhancer 1.9.1 with a Full HD video avi file (encoded with Cineform HD 3.2 codec), and while the little window showing the video next to the settings works well, clicking "preview" return:

E1706. Can't connect source and VIH.

Unspecified error
E1755. Can't connect source video and VIH.

Unspecified error

(80004005)

Any idea ?

This means some trouble with the codec. I've just downloaded and tried Cineform HD codec v3.9.2, it worked ok.
Also, try tweaking its settings.

I had the same problem. I also noticed that at load an avi movie in VE there was Haali Media Splitter loaded on my PC that was managing my avi. I suspected that this might cause problems at VE preview and processing. After uninstalling Halli splitter VE worked without any problems. I reinstalled this Halli splitter again but was careful not to enable its support for avi files. Since than VE works fine with avi files.

@Dee Mon

Please see if you can include Halli splitter support in VE.

Thanks for the information!
Our experiments confirm this behavior: when Haali Media Splitter is set as default AVI reader, VE cannot read AVI files. In the next release VE will use standard File Source instead of the default reader, this will make it work even when Haali Splitter is present.

ANY developer who allows such comprehensive moaning must be honest.
Much respect to you Dee Mon
All such software is reasonably complicated to use and most problems will be user effects. Huh?
Very refreshing guys. Wink
