I can't seem to get Video Enhancer to work with the ffdshow encoder, one of the primary reasons I've used VirtualDub. When I choose it in the Compression settings, I get this error:

-----
E1706. Can't connect source and VIH.

Unspecified error
E1755. Cannot decode this file. (Can't connect source video and VIH.)
-----

I'd love to see the results, speed and quality-wise, over VirtualDub, but I can't really make a comparison without the ffdshow enhancements. The source video is a simple XviD-encoded avi.

The problem is not with encoder. This is a decoding problem. Does Preview work with your file? (I guess not)
What kind of file you're trying to process?

No, preview doesn't work. Same message. The file is an xvid/mp3 avi. Would it possibly work if I disabled ffdshow decoding of xvid and used the xvid decoder?

edit: Nevermind, doesn't work.

Something is really screwed in the system. Try the debug mode described here:
